SMCS Risk’s reputation as the leading risk management, business & training solutions company in Cambodia continues to grow as more reputable companies in Cambodia look to engage SMCS’s services.

Following on from conducting fire safety & evacuation training in July this year for the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, SMCS has been awarded a 2 year contract to conduct fire safety audits and inspections for the Australian Embassy and all of its subsidiary buildings and residences in Cambodia.

SMCS Risk’s fire safety trainers are internationally qualified with many years of experience operating in Australia, allowing SMCS Risk to provide the highest level of fire safety advice and service available.

Cambodia has struggled with enforcing a fire safety code, allowing developers and construction companies to construct buildings that are sub-standard in fire safety. In 2016, the Phnom Penh Post newspaper released an article outlining the serious safety concerns with high rise residential buildings.

There has been a recent push by the Cambodian Government to improve building and fire safety in residential buildings, however any building that has been constructed prior to 2017, may have serous safety issues.

Under the contract with the Australian Embassy, SMCS Risk will be responsible for inspecting all buildings that house Australian Embassy staff to ensure that they meet fire safety standards.
